Home Wine Making Demonstration / Tasting

6:30pm - 9pm

$10 member / $15 non-member

Jim Remus, Master Gardener, and home wine making enthusiast , will present an overview and demonstration of home wine making, including ingredients, equipment requirements, yeasts, additives, sanitation, and detailed steps for consistently making good wine. Refreshments and wine tasting provided.

Want to garden, but don't have yard space to do it? FBBG Educator Blake Compton will demonstrate three vertical gardening projects using items from around the house. Make and take your own vertical garden.

Landscape Lighting Basics

Jon Adams of Twilight Solutions will share simple ways to add drama and value to your yard and home with landscape lighting. Class includes a demonstraton of a variety of products and their applications.

Beekeeping for the Bees "Beesentation"

Saturday, May 5

10:00am - 11:30am

$10 member / $15 non-member

Beepods will present a class on an introduction to bees and beekeeping. Learn the difference between wasps and bees, and why we need bees. Whether you want to start a dance with bees through beekeeping, or just learn of the dance they do to find nectar, this course gets you buzzing.

Jan Gregory Nurse Practitioner with Aurora Health Care, will show you how easy and fun it is to to get outside and explore plants and wildlife in our garden setting! If we're lucky, we'll see hawks, squirrels, and more exciting local wildlife. Appropriate for ages 3+. Refreshments provided.

Ikebana: Back to Basics Class Series with Instructor, Maribeth Price

Wednesdays May 9, 23 & 30; June 13, 20 & 27

9:30am - Noon

$150 member / $180 non-member

Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, contrasts with the Western decorative form by emphasizing linear aspects. The vase, stems, leaves and branches - as well as the flowers - play a role in each composition. Explore Ikebana's connection between floral forms and a philosophy of becoming closer to nature. Cost includes all plant materials.
